Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Jurnal Kesehatan Poltekkes Kemenkes RI Pangkalpinang is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. This statement follows the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Elsevier's recommended publishing practices. All parties involved — authors, the editorial board, reviewers, and the publisher — must agree upon and uphold the following standards of ethical behaviour.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors present an accurate and objective account of their research together with an honest discussion of its significance. Underlying data must be accurate; fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be the authors' original work; the work and/or words of others must be appropriately cited. Submissions are screened for similarity using StrikePlagiarism, with a defined maximum similarity threshold (25%). Plagiarism in all its forms is unethical.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently, nor publish substantially the same research in more than one journal.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite all publications that have influenced the reported research.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship is limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All appropriate co-authors must be listed, and all authors must approve the final version and its submission.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest and all sources of research funding.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate to correct or retract the article.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published, based on the reviewers' evaluation, scholarly quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual content, without regard to the authors' race, gender, orientation, beliefs, citizenship, or political affiliation.

Confidentiality

Editors and staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Editors do not use unpublished material for their own purposes and recuse themselves (appointing another editor) when they have a conflict of interest regarding a manuscript.

Involvement in Investigations

Editors take responsive measures when ethical complaints are raised concerning a submitted or published manuscript, including corrections, clarifications, or retractions where necessary.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts through objective evaluation.

Promptness

Any reviewer who feels unqualified to review a manuscript, or who cannot complete the review in time, must notify the editor and withdraw from the process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents and must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorised by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews are conducted objectively and constructively; personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity to other work.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information obtained through review is kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers decline to review manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

As publisher, Poltekkes Kemenkes Pangkalpinang ensures that publication ethics practices are consistently applied, safeguards the independence of editorial decisions from commercial interests, supports correction and retraction in cases of malpractice, and ensures the long-term availability and preservation of the published articles.
